John Abbott College - Montreal Teens Run to Washington D.C. for Cancer Research

Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue, Québec – June 29, 2016 – The White House Runners (TWHR), four Montreal-area CEGEP students, are embarking on the adventure of a lifetime this Friday, Canada Day. They will jog over 900 km to Washington DC, in 10 days. Why? They want to make a difference, raise awareness and help the Terry Fox Foundation and cancer research.

Aidan Yardley-Jones (Dawson), Akshay Grover (JAC), Mathieu Blouin (JAC) & twin Marc-André Blouin (JAC) met in high school, on the Pierrefonds Comprehensive High School cross-country team. They have been running together ever since. After completing many competitions and even a childhood cancer fundraiser run from Montreal to Toronto in 2014, they decided they needed a new challenge.

July 1st, 2016, between the hours of 6:00 and 7:00 a.m. The White House Runners (TWHR) will take the first strides that will bring them from Montreal to Washington, DC raising money for The Terry Fox Foundation.

While attending John Abbott and Dawson Colleges, these young men have been preparing day in and day out. They hope to raise over 40,000$ for the Terry Fox Canada Foundation.
